Description
Mindfulness-Based Approaches to Clinical Supervision: Enhancing Process-Focused Learning
This 3-hour workshop, facilitated by Staci Martin, PhD, and Miranda Morris, PhD, introduces an innovative framework for incorporating mindfulness principles into clinical supervision, emphasizing the distinction between process and content in therapeutic work. Designed for clinical supervisors and consultants, this experiential training explores how mindfulness-based supervision can enhance trainee development while fostering deeper awareness of therapeutic dynamics.
Participants will learn to shift supervision focus from content-based case discussion to process-oriented exploration, enabling trainees to develop stronger clinical instincts and self-awareness. The workshop addresses core supervisory functions including professional development, clinical competence, and the cultivation of mindful awareness in clinical work.
Special attention will be given to managing common supervisory challenges, including resistant trainees, supervisor frustration, and the tendency to rely on "packaged" interventions. Participants will walk away with practical skills for implementing mindfulness-based supervision techniques while maintaining focus on trainee growth and clinical competence.
This training is particularly valuable for supervisors seeking to deepen their supervision practice while fostering mindful awareness in the next generation of clinicians.
Participants will receive 3 Supervision CEs following their conclusion of the course.
