Description
CPD with a Difference: An Evening of Connection and Conversation
Join us for a relaxed evening of connection, sharing, and learning from each other.
This isn’t your typical CPD event - think of it as a chance to wind down at the end of the week, be part of meaningful conversations, and connect with like minded people in the community.
This is the first in a series of events where anyone is welcome to put themselves forward to speak. At each event we’ll hear from three members of the community, sharing their experience as a person-centred therapist (or student) on topics that matter to them.
For this first event, we’ll hear from:
Alice Wilson – explores the power of community and why having a person-centred community was so important to her after finishing training.
Jenn Payne Gregory – on her experience working as a person centred therapist in the NHS.
Helen Skelton - refutes the idea that the PCA is ’nice’ counselling, and explores how the approach is inherently and deeply challenging for both counsellors and clients.
Each talk will last around 20 minutes, followed by time for questions and an open discussion.
CPD certificates will be provided at the end of the event.
Whether you're a therapist, a student, or just curious, come along, be part of the conversation.
We can’t wait to see you there!
Questions:
Is the venue accessible? Unfortunately the event is based up stairs with no lift access. We will look for a more accessible venue for the next event.
Is there parking? Haulm is only a 15 minute walk from Hove station and a ten minute walk from Norton Road multi story car park. There is also pay and display parking on the streets nearby.
Will there be refreshments available? Your ticket will cover one drink of your choice. Please feel welcome to bring your own drinks/snacks.
Do I need to be a therapist or have a background in person-centred therapy to attend? The event is designed for therapists or therapists in training, anyone of any modality is welcome.
Please feel welcome to email aliceswilson@gmail.com with anymore questions!
