Class Type: 90% Partnerwork + 10% Footwork, On1 & On2.
Class Contents: We will start this class by practising and memorising a fun Salsa On1 routine at Improver level that is easy and accessible. After that, we will introduce the Salsa On2 timing and break down the routine slowly, step by step. Then we will slowly practice the entire routine with On2 timing.

Class Type: 100% Footwork (solo), On1.
Class Contents: How do you properly step into the floor, let the weight transfer move up throughout your body, and get that typical salsa shoulder-arm contra movement that you see in good salsa dancers? Properly learning how to moving your body (parts) is the thing that will elevate ALL of your dancing to the next level!

Class Contents: Now that everyone has been exposed to the basics of salsa on2, we will practice On2 for some more. If time permits, we might revisit the routine from the previous class and combine both routines.

Class Contents: This solo class is for both leaders and followers. Take your footwork to the next level with Hannah, with a fun routine that can be applied fully solo or when you're doing a couple of shines during partnerwork.

Class Contents: This class is designed for both leaders and followers with a reasonable experience dancing salsa and the basics of salsa on2 (as the basics of the on2 timing will not be covered in this class). Enjoy this highly recommended class and apply your shines / footwork later during the party!

Class Type: 100% Partnerwork, On2.
Class Contents: In this class, Dean & Merche will be teaching an Intermediate level salsa on 2 partnerwork routine. Have a blast during this challenging and rewarding routine with these two great dancers & teachers. This class assumes a decent experience in dancing salsa on2.

Class Contents: Being a salsa leader is not about 'pulling' followers through a sequence of figures during a salsa song. Salsa following is not about anticipating what a leader is going to do next. Join Tef & Nayeli in this class where they will give you invaluable techniques on how to be better leaders and followers.

Doors will be closed between 17:15 - 19:00. You can leave things at the venue if you wish, but you will not be able to retrieve them during this time.

Class Type: Warm-Up + Partnerwork, On2.
Class Contents: Dean & Nayeli will be teaching an Improver/Intermediate Salsa On2 Partnerwork routine. Get your outfits and dance shoes on and get ready for this fun class followed by 3+ hours of social dancing afterwards!
5️⃣🅱️ 19:30 - 20:30 Salsa On1 Partnerwork
Instructors: 🕺Mark💃Hannah
Best For: 🟡Improver 🟠Improver+ 🔴Intermediate
Class Type: Warm-Up + Partnerwork, On1.
Class Contents: Mark & Hannah will be teaching an Improver/Intermediate Salsa On1 Partnerwork routine. This is the last opportunity this day to get a salsa class in - after this it is time to dance for 3+ hours and apply everything you've practiced today!

This is where we all meet together and party! After (hopefully) a rewarding day of classes, we have DJ Isaac playing the finest salsa tunes all evening!
- Level Guidance -
⚪ Beginner
- Dancing for 0-6 months.
- You will likely struggle during the classes at this event.
- Instead, consider joining us for the party only (20:30 - 00:00). Everybody is very welcome here!
🟡 Improver
- Dancing 6 - 12 months now at an established salsa school (Salsa LA / CBL / On1).
- No major difficulties with timing, the basic steps, and awareness of fundamentals like 'the frame'.
- Familiar with various turns (left / right / inside / outside) and figures like Titanic and Copa.
🟠 Improver+
- Dancing salsa regularly for 1 - 3 years.
- The salsa timing is natural to you, and you have developed a reasonable frame and absorbed fundamental techniques.
- You like the challenge of longer turn patterns, but often struggle with higher-level classes, double turns, etc.
🔴 Intermediate
- Dancing salsa regularly & focused for 3+ years.
- You are focused on fine-tuning your frame, technique, and balance, especially during complex partnerwork and double turns.
- Complex partnerwork and double turns are generally not a huge problem for you, except for classes in London or international salsa congresses.
⚫ Advanced
- Dancing salsa frequently & very focused for 5+ years.
- Your development is in the details: exact positioning of your feet, body posture, speed of spotting, stability after triple turns, etc.
- You are probably already dreaming of your next international salsa congress or dance weekend in London!

PARTY ONLY TICKET: £10
Includes only the party. Please note that this EXCLUDES the party classes at 19:30 - 20:30!
DOOR TICKETS: +£5 EXTRA
Tickets at the door are only available if not sold out online and are subject to a £5 surcharge.

Room: Studio (capacity up to 150 dancers)
Equipment: high-quality wooden floor, speakers, fans, microphones.
Drinks: you can bring your own water + there is a bar onsite.
Food: there is a restaurant onsite + more in the neighbourhood.

- Transportation -
Public transportation: Hen & Chicken has bus stops nearby. The nearest one is stop 'Greville Road' on North Street.
Parking: there is no onsite parking as this is a gig venue on a popular street. However, there is unrestricted, free parking in the entire area SOUTH of of the venue. Note: NORTH of the venue is limited paid parking and permit holders only.
- About Us -
Dean
Dean has experience in many genres of dance and has competed at UK and European events and danced around the globe to gain experience. He hopes to pass on some of his great experiences to those looking to learn. He’s regularly invited to teach at events because of his positive energy, creative routines, and impeccable skills on the dancefloor. His energy and enthusiasm always rubs off on his students and you will come away with some smooth moves!
Merche
Originally from Spain, Merche is a professionally trained dancer who graduated from Málaga Dance Conservatory, specialising in Clásico Español (2003–2013). Her passion for movement led her to begin her salsa journey in 2014, where she joined Adrián y Anita’s world team project, performing the choreography “La Malanga” at various salsa festivals. Since moving to the UK, she has continued to grow and evolve, training with renowned artists in London and embracing both Cuban culture and New York salsa style (On2). Beyond the dance floor, Merche is a dedicated ICU and Research nurse who loves travelling and connecting with nature.
Nayeli
Nayeli is a salsa and bachata dancer, teacher, and choreographer. She learned to dance back in 2012 at Klave y Timbal and Mandal in Querétaro, Mexico training with some top dancers. She started teaching lady style in 2019, and had two salsa and bachata ladies’ teams at Mandala Querétaro. Nayeli also performed in stage challenges with Delia Madera, Open Break, Sergio Jasso, Mike and Odette, Selene Tovar, Jarquin, and Jorge and Maria from Mexico. She moved over to the UK in 2022 and was with Edwin’s pro group until 2024.
Mark
Mark runs a salsa & bachata dance school in Bath called SB Dance Bath and has been a loyal supporter of Amity Salsa (formerly Bristol Salsa On2) and the wider salsa scene in general. Having been active on the Bristol salsa scene for a long time, many people know Mark from dancing both as leader or as follower, or taking one of his classes at various places. Mark is around, leading, following, mingling.
Aimee
Aimee fell in love with salsa dancing during her university years and has taken many classes in Derbyshire, Bristol, and Bath to perfect her salsa following, technique, and styling. Aimee has a high level of ambition and commitment, which is also reflected in her current PhD education at the University in Bath. She has a passion for improving the quality of salsa dancing and female teacher representation in the salsa scene, while continuing to perfect her skills as both a salsa follower and leader.
DJ Isaac
Over the past few years, Isaac has quickly become a very popular DJ in and around Bristol. He has gained a large following who visit his events and appreciate the quality he brings to his parties, both through his music, as well as through his passion for DJing and bringing people together in the salsa scene. If you haven't heard Isaac's music yet - now is your chance!
Amity Salsa (Hannah & Tef)
Hannah’s dancing started aged three with ballet, tap and modern and later she fell in love with salsa, a passion that has lasted over two decades. Hannah has performed nationally and internationally with Shelley and Gil’s semi-professional team, Alma de Pexava for over 5 years, and has taught throughout the UK. Training with Pexava, she developed the nickname ‘Speedy Gonzales’ because of her fast spinning and following! Passionate about technique, body movement and spinning, Hannah loves sharing her knowledge to help dancers hone high quality movement and become the best dancers they can be.
Tef has been dancing salsa for over 10 years and has taken classes all over the world. Before moving to Bristol, he was a regular teacher for Ardour in Cardiff, providing technique-focused classes and entertaining students with his good humour and friendly approach. An analyst by day, Tef is passionate about understanding the mechanisms behind complex turn patterns and translating them in a way that is easy to understand and apply.
