Stage 2 and 3 Care and Lunge Day for Students and Coaches with Mandy Luesley FBHS

This training day is designed for both candidates and coaches who are training clients in preparation for BHS Assessments. The sessions will standardise the level of skills and knowledge required for BHS Stage 2 & 3 care and lunge, and will include the criteria which is assessed in advance through the Skills Records as well as on the assessment day. It is a great opportunity for coaches to ensure that they are current in their coaching and are preparing clients to the correct standard. Similarly candidates can see the levels required of them and will be able to ask questions and benchmark their own readiness. 
The day is intended to be friendly, informative and interactive with lots of opportunities to ask questions and have discussions. It's presented by Mandy Luesley FBHS, a BHS Chief Assessor who know the syllabi inside out!

Programme:

9.30am - Arrive and Register 

9.45am- Introductions

10.00am- Practical Session. Tack and Equipment, Travel and Prepare for Presentation.

11.30am- Theory Session. Roles, Rights & Responsibilities of a Groom, Nutrition & Fitness, Horse Behaviour and Turnout Management.

1.00pm- Lunch

1.30pm- Lungeing

3.00pm- Practical Session. Health & Anatomy.

4.00pm- Finish

Tea and coffee will be available on arrival and during breaks. Please bring a packed lunch. You may also wish to bring a chair for the arena sessions.

Cost: £35 BHS APCs, £45 all others

• Full payment is required at the time of booking.
• If you wish to cancel your booking, notice must be given via email to hannah.marsh@bhs.org.uk
  • Cancellations made 10 days or more before the event will receive a refund, less a £5.00 administration fee.
  • Cancellations made less than 10 days before the event are non-refundable.
• No refunds will be given for non-attendance
• Tickets are non-transferrable and may only be used by the person named on the booking, unless the organiser agrees in advance and all attendee details have been updated.
• The organiser accepts no responsibility for any personal expenses incurred as a result of cancellation, postponement, or changes to the event.
• If the event is cancelled by the BHS for any reason, the entry fee will be fully refunded.
• The BHS, or the training venue, cannot provide supervision for attendees under the age of 18. Any attendee below the age of 16 years should be accompanied by a responsible adult who remains at the venue for the duration of the course or event. For attendees aged 16-17, or an adult at risk, it is at the discretion of their parent or guardian and agreed in advance with the BHS or the training venue.
