On the 1st of May 2022, our two new organisations were formed. The British Karate Guild (BKG) and The World Karate Guild (WKG), led by Shihan Nicholas da Costa, Chief Instructor, and Shihans Graham Warden, Felix Ntumazah, Jeff Whybrow and Darren Stringer, as assistant Chief Instructors – all highly respected Kyokushin karateka in their own right.

Our Ethos

•  To promote and protect the philosophical foundations of Kyokushin as a budo martial art
•  To work together in a democratically run non-profit organisation for the benefit of all our members
•  To strive towards the standard of excellence as taught by Hanshi Steve Arneil and his teacher Sosai Masutatsu Oyama

Our Mission

To protect and promote the inherent budo philosophy of Kyokushin Karate, as taught to us by Sosai Masutatsu Oyama and Hanshi Steve Arneil. And in turn, we shall strive to uphold a standard of excellence as we pass their knowledge onto you.

We are run by long-established and world-renowned karateka in Kumite, Kata and Kihon. Our instructors do not wish to profit from their positions but to give back to Kyokushin by ensuring its legacy benefits all and not the few.

Our board promises to listen to members and serve them with an open mind to enable collective progression. Through this strength in unity, we shall find the determination to better ourselves with unselfish actions as we discover the true meaning of the way. This journey may take many years; however, success will not be measured by end goals alone but also through our humility in both defeats and triumphs alike.
