Killer Campaigns: Can journalism still change the world?

Wed 23 Sep 2026 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM Bankside Hotel Autograph Collection, SE1 9JU

We all remember the great editorial campaigns – stories that shook up the establishment and brought significant change. From Windrush to phone hacking; the Post Office scandal to the Panama Papers, great journalism doesn't just tell us what's happening – it changes what happens next.

Campaigns can raise awareness too, supporting charities, communities and causes that matter. Or they can be fun – run just for the joy of doing something together with others. At a time when magazine journalism is under more pressure than ever, can editorial campaigns still move the needle?

Hosted by Bryan Glick, editor in chief of Computer Weekly – the publication whose reporting helped expose the Post Office scandal – this BSME event brings together editors whose journalism delivered real-world impact. They'll share how they built campaigns that cut through, won support and made a difference, and explore what it takes to create a truly killer campaign.
