BSMA National Conference 2025

The British Somali Medical Association National Conference is back!

Following our highly successful inaugural Conference last year, the BSMA is proud to announce its 2nd National Conference in London this year.

Our National Conference will be an invaluable opportunity for British Somali doctors, medical students and allied healthcare professionals to network, discuss key issues, showcase their academic achievements and celebrate their work through prizes and networking. This conference is the only one of its kind, and is set to attract a wide range of delegates from across the UK and beyond, at all stages of their medical training.

There will be guest speakers, panel discussions, workshops and an abstract competition!

Panel discussion topics will include:

-Careers outside of the NHS 

-Autism and the UK Somali Community

-Improving Somali Women's Health 

-Balancing Life and Career as a Somali Healthcare Professional

General Info

The BSMA is a voluntary organisation of over 300 UK based British Somali doctors and medical students set up in 2018 with the aim of providing a platform for medics to network, educate and support each other. For many years now the BSMA has also been providing free support for medical school applications to aspiring medical students of all backgrounds and has been helping to address the complex healthcare challenges facing the British Somali community. The BSMA has a registered charitable arm for its community work - the British Somali Medical Foundation (Charity no 1194268).
