🔹 What is Speedgolf?

Speedgolf combines golf with running with total golf strokes plus time to complete the round.

Speedgolf Score = Strokes + Time (in minutes and seconds)

The lower the better!

🎯 Eligibility & Entry

Accomplished golfers with a current or lapsed handicap. Capable of a comfortable 5km run, even if at a modest pace. We do ask entrants to provide their golf handicap and 5k pace times to help us with the tee order as we set off the anticipated fastest first in Round 1. Golf strokes are gross and represent a player's total number of strokes throughout their round, including any penalty strokes – there are NO adjustments for handicap! Previous Speedgolf experience is not obligatory but will be an advantage! Initially, top performing players from all categories in 2025 will be invited to secure their registration, and this will be extended based on demand for places. We always look to welcome new players and will offer a very limited number of wildcard places for International players and those based furthest away such as Scotland and Wales, others will be able to secure an invitation to register through our qualification event at Wildernesse GC in Kent on 17 July and other opportunities if demand dictates. 

🏆 British Speedgolf Championship Format

All players complete 18 holes in a solo format (4-minute tee intervals) running between strokes (on foot - no buggies) The 20 Top-performing players (regardless of category) will make the cut and play Round 2 (another 18 holes) to compete for the overall 36 hole championship title.

British Speedgolf Championship Prizes

🎯 Overall 36-Hole Championship Title (Top 3):

Currently there is no confirmed prize purse for the championship unless we can find a replacement for our previous supporter, We Aim to provide the following but at present this is JUST an aspiration!

🥇 1st: £700 🥈 2nd: £350 🥉 3rd: £175 (subject to sponsorship support so its not guaranteed)

The prize structure, if confirmed,  will continue to support amateur golf status compliance.

🎖 Category Prizes (Based on first 18 Holes):

Women, Senior, Junior, Adaptive and possibly more

🏅 £125 prize purse for the winners + trophies/awards (subject to sponsorship support so its not guaranteed)

👥 Inclusivity & Atmosphere

British Speedgolf promotes a welcoming, inclusive environment where PGA Pros and amateur men, women and juniors compete together. Camaraderie is a hallmark of the championship — experienced players often help newcomers with tips and strategy on the day.

📅 Schedule

Clubhouse Opens: 7:00 AM

Player Registration: 7:00 AM – 7:20 AM(1st of 2 batches)

Tee Times Start: 8:00 AM (Fastest players go out first!)

Round 2 (Players who make the Cut Only): Early afternoon

Presentation of Awards & Photos: Approx. 5.00 PM (depends on final size of the field, max 70)

🎟 British Speedgolf Championship Entry Fees

Adult Entry: £98.50 + £1.50 processing fee (option to add refund protection for an extra 8%)

Junior Entry (Under 18): £65 + £1.50 processing fee

Includes a breakfast snack & drink after your morning round.

⚠️ Refund Policy

Registration fees are generally non-refundable, due the nature an size of the event, unless the event is cancelled by British Speedgolf due to extreme weather or unforeseen circumstances.

New for 2026, Entrants can opt to pay a little extra for Refund Protection of registration fees, for genuine injury, illness etc via this Ticket Tailor platform. This protection is an optional extra based on approximately 8% of the ticket price ie the cost of an adult or junior registration (selected at checkout) .

No refund will cover costs such as travel, accommodation, or other expenses. Full details in our Terms & Conditions, read as part of entry process.

🏌️ Golf Practice Rounds

Practice rounds (regular golf) to get to know the course, are available by booking directly with Sunningdale Heath Golf Club: 📞 01344 620507 subject to availability for those competing at their special member guest rate. You need to tell them you will be competing in September to secure this.

📋 Scoring

Round 1 Self scoring with player called strokes + penalties to volunteers at every 2-3 holes (subject to change)

Round 2 running scorers are planned, but depends on continued volunteer support

All players must sign a Participant Disclaimer, Liability Waiver & Image Release at registration on the day

The clubhouse overlooks several holes, making it a prime viewing spot. Bring your supporters!

🚗 Parking

On-site parking is available and prioritised for players. Please car share where possible due to limited space.

Entry priority. Early registration access has been given to those invited to register, using special access codes. General entries will open later in the year, pending availability. In 2025 we were oversubscribed, so register early to secure your slot, an invitation to register is not a guarantee of a place until you secure it and to manage demand your invitation access code may expire if not used within a specified period!
