Frog On A Bike Ceilidh (Caller Ollie Simons) (Dance)

Sat 8 Aug 2026 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM Sarah Thorne Theatre, CT10 2BN

One of Cambridgeshire’s premier English ceilidh bands, the ever-busy Frog on a Bike has been an established and hugely popular name on the professional East Anglian ceilidh scene for over 30 years. A staple also of the wider English ceilidh circuit, Frog on a Bike play some of the UK’s biggest folk festivals every year.

Composers and creative interpreters of traditional tunes, Frog on a Bike’s frenetic energy, distinctively large sound and driving rhythm is guaranteed to have you up and dancing. “[Their] seemingly endless surplus energy should perhaps be harnessed and channelled back to the national grid!" (Richard Penguin for FATEA, Folk East 2022)”. With a luscious line-up of sumptuous melodeon, recorder, fiddle and mandolin, backed by a riotous rhythm section of bass and drums, you won’t be disappointed that you came along for the ride with these fenland folk-rockers! “Just what English Ceilidh dancing is all about!" (Hastings Traditional Jack in The Green 2023)”

Caller is Ollie Simons

Ollie Simons is one of the most charismatic and in-demand young callers currently on the scene. His seemingly boundless energy also sees him as a member of more Morris dance teams than we would think possible at once! Ollie's calling is infectious, you can't help but dance with a grin on your face.

“His love of music and dancing permeates throughout a ceilidh, creating a brilliant atmosphere of nerdy folk fun" - Powerhouse Ceilidh Band

"He is always one of our first ports of call, particularly for high profile public performances" - Frog on a Bike
