Manchester’s favourite folk monster, Chimera are known for their infectious energy and driving tunes that will get everyone’s feet tapping. They pride themselves on their exhilarating, playful arrangements that put the punch and drive into dance tunes from across the UK and beyond, and are guaranteed to get you up on your feet and dancing, whether you’re a first-time folkie or a long-time veteran of the folk scene. Chimera has something for everyone and promise an excellent time for all. The six-piece line-up features melodeon, whistles, flute, ‘cello, trombone, drum-kit and altogether more XLR cables than is good and proper.
Bursting with energy and ready to get everyone moving, Polly Stirzaker is a vibrant new caller who brings the dance floor to life. After years playing in ceilidh bands, she’s stepped up to calling, combining a deep love of the music and an infectious enthusiasm for dance. With her warm, easygoing style, Polly makes sure everyone feels included, mixing well loved classics with exciting new dances from across the country. She explains each dance clearly, so everyone can join in with confidence. New to Broadstairs, Polly can’t keep still when the music starts - and neither will you!"
