Family Ceilidh with Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer - Caller Alison Rowley (Dance / Family)

Thu 13 Aug 2026 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM The Pavilion On The Sands, CT10 1EU

Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer and they are two of the most versatile musicians on the dance circuit today. They are equally at home whether it’s medieval dance, Playford, Regency or modern ceilidh and contra.

Vicki studied at the Royal College of Music on the double bass. She plays various types of bagpipes, flute and nyckelharpa. Vicki’s dance roots lie in Scottish Country Dancing being taught the Highland Sword Dance by her Dad. Now Vicki is quite content to be in the band.

Jonny is a multi-instrumentalist, performer, writer and arranger. Classically trained as a pianist and trumpet player, he now specialises in traditional music from the British Isles and Scandinavia; primarily on harpsichord, piano, bouzouki and cowhorn. By default, Jonny is probably England’s leading exponent of the Swedish Kohorn (cowhorn) but we guarantee he won’t play it for dancing.

At one end of the entertainment spectrum Vicki & Jonny can also be spotted at castles and properties around the country as medieval minstrels and at the other on the silver screen with recordings and appearances at the cinema for Hollywood movies, Netflix, Channel 5, ITVx and the BBC!
