Family Programme Weekend at Broadway Lodge

Supporting someone through addiction can be exhausting, but you don’t have to navigate its impact alone. Spend two days dedicated to your wellbeing, connection and healing, taking part in a therapeutic programme specifically for loved ones, led by a family therapist.

Broadway Lodge is an addiction treatment centre in Weston-super-Mare that has been helping people transform their lives since 1974. We know living alongside someone else’s addiction can take a significant emotional and mental toll. It’s not an individual illness – it affects the whole family, influencing relationships, emotions, communication and everyday life. Friends and family close to the individual are often left feeling angry or overwhelmed, fearful, worried, anxious, isolated or unsure of what to do or how to move forward.

The best help you can give is to prioritise getting help for yourself first and starting your own recovery journey which our family programme weekend can help with.

We are delighted to offer a special in-person Family Programme Weekend for anyone affected by a loved one's addiction. This two-day programme offers a safe, welcoming and confidential space where you can connect with others who understand.

This supportive weekend will provide a safe space to:

• Connect with others who understand what you're going through
• Talk openly about your experiences to a family therapist
• Develop a greater understanding of addiction and its effects
• Explore what is and isn’t helpful when supporting someone with addiction
• Begin or continue your own healing journey
• Learn tools to improve your own emotional wellbeing
• Move forward with more confidence and understanding

Through a combination of education, open discussion, written therapeutic exercises, group therapy and counsellor support, you'll have the opportunity to explore some of the painful issues and challenges you have endured while prioritising your own wellbeing and recovery.

You will be able to ask any questions throughout the two days so that you can get the most benefit out of the weekend and receive a more tailored experience.

Relax & recharge

Along with individual and group sessions, there will be an opportunity to slow down and relax each day. Experience a multi-sensory escape, taking part in a soothing mindfulness meditation session designed to promote a sense of calm and quieten a busy mind. In addition, you can choose to receive a massage treatment and auricular acupuncture (acupuncture focused on the ears).

Who the weekend is suitable for:

Our Family Programme Weekend is open to anyone who would like support to recover from the impact of a loved one’s addiction. Your loved one may be in active addiction, receiving treatment or in recovery.

£90 per person

How to find us:

Travelling by car:

We are located on the edge of Weston-super-Mare close to Weston General Hospital. Please be aware that a bridge next to Lidl on Winterstoke Road is currently being rebuilt and diversions are in place. If travelling from the M5, we recommend approaching Broadway Lodge via Haywood Village housing estate (the road name is ‘The Runway’). We have parking on site. If the car park if full, parking is also available on the residential roads surrounding Broadway Lodge.

Public transport:

Broadway Lodge is approximately a 10-minute taxi journey from Weston-super-Mare train station and approximately a 40-minute drive from Bristol International Airport.

Refund policy:

If you would like to cancel your booking, you will be eligible for a full refund provided that you cancel at least 14 days before the event, i.e. by Saturday 26^th September 2026.

If Broadway Lodge cancels the Family Programme weekend, you will receive a full refund.
