Brockwell Hall Living Archive Group: Introduction Session

Mon 6 Jul 2026 13:30 - 15:30 BST Brockwell Hall, SE24 9BJ

Curious about storytelling, community research, and local histories? Get involved in the new Brockwell Hall Living Archive Group running for 8-weeks from September! For an introductory session to oral histories and an opportunity for co-design join us on Monday 6th July from 1:30-3:30pm

This course trains a small group of volunteers to collect, document, and share oral histories about Brockwell Park and Brockwell Hall.

Participants will learn how to:

• Conduct engaging and ethical interviews

• Use active listening and storytelling techniques

• Record and edit oral histories

• Produce short, accessible stories for a public audience

You will then work as a collective in obtaining oral histories from locals which will be displayed in the Living Archive exhibition space here at Brockwell Hall, together with photos, artefacts and visuals of the interviewees. The training will also include a visit to Lambeth Archives.

The introductory session will be on the first floor of Brockwell Hall in the Bristowe Room, accessible from the Exhibition Space via stairs/lift. September dates for the 8-week group training will be confirmed and shared with attendees following the Introductory session.
