The Nettle Dress (2023) with artist Q&A

Join us for a screening of The Nettle Dress followed by a Q&A with the artist behind the dress, Allan Brown, and be immersed into a modern-day fairytale and hymn to the healing power of nature and slow craft. 

After the death of his beloved wife, textile artist Allan Brown embarks on a seven-year endeavor to weave a hand-spun dress from stinging nettles foraged in the woods surrounding his home. 

Runtime: 68 minutes following a 30-minute Q&A opened to the public

The film will start at 1:00PM upstairs in the hall in the Bristowe Room, accessible via the cafe or Exhibition Space entrance using the stairs or lift.

This film screening is part of our Brockwell Hall Eco Fair from 10:00AM-4:00PM. Enjoy a mix of eco-forward, local artisan crafts, bites from Roots & Berries and community stalls as well as a youth-led No Waste Fashion Show at 3:00pm in our EVENT HALL. No booking for the Eco Fair required.
