This generative, weekly online drop-in class is here to help you to write the poems you need to release into the world. Get ready to experiment with new forms, take risks and be unapologetically bold. We will be harnessing the magic of summer as we manifest that freedom and heat in our writing. For inspiration and guidance we'll read poems and texts by CA Conrad, Chen Chen, Dodie Bellamy, Wanda Coleman, Franny Choi, Eileen Myles, Etel Adnan, Yoko Ono and more followed by generative prompts. Summer is hot but poetry is hotter. This hour is for you to fully do you so run wild, dear poets, and don’t look back. Now let’s write some poems! Sharing of poems written in class will be encouraged but optional.
(Note that drop-in classes are not a forum for critique of work; students looking for critique should register for multi-week workshops.)
