Elena Brower Retreat - Hold Nothing: Strength, Subtlety and Inner Peace

The roots of European mythic and spiritual traditions are anchored in the land and, if we know how to tune into them, the stories of our places and the other-than-humans who occupy them with us can be our greatest teachers. How can we reclaim these highly functional ancestral worldviews, and weave them into an authentic, grounded practice for very different times?

A 5-night retreat held at the 3000-acre Broughton Sanctuary, just outside Skipton, at the foothills of The Yorkshire Dales, one of the most picturesque parts of the country. Established in 1097, Broughton Hall is a house of transformation, home to the Tempest family for over 900 years, and enjoys a rich history stretching back over the millennium.

Mornings will be spent working with Sharon in Avalon Wellbeing Centre. A variety of optional afternoon activities will be offered, including a labyrinth walk and well visit, a tour of Broughton's remarkable nature recovery programme, somatic movement practice and the opportunity to learn some new journalling techniques. You might also prefer to spend some time on the land by yourself, or unwind in Avalon's state-of-the-art biophilic-designed Pool Suite. Some evenings will be free and on others there will be the chance to participate in a sound bathing experience, or in a music / drumming gathering around a roaring fire at the Fire Temple

Learn more about the retreat at the Broughton Sanctuary website.
