The Story of a House (Ray Swain Memorial Lecture)
The Priory in Church Lane, is the last remaining Jacobean house in Tottenham. It has had many lives and many people have lived there - however, none are quite as significant as Joseph Fenton, the Barber Surgeon for whom it was built in 1620, who from humble beginnings became a distinguished figure in the medical establishment of the City of London and whose legacy is still alive today.
Join us in the Priory's historic Garden on Thursday 25th September from 6pm for a rare glimpse of what lies behind the imposing gates and then on to All Hallows Church at 7.15pm for 'The Story of a House', a presentation by local resident and amateur sleuth Ashley Grey.
This special evening is in fond remembrance of our dear Friend of Bruce Castle and volunteer Ray Swain.
