What if your first aid kit could come from the landscape around you?
In this 4-hour immersive masterclass, we’ll spend an afternoon learning how to identify, forage, and prepare a small collection of common medicinal plants that can support us in everyday first aid situations — both fresh in the field and preserved for later use.
Together, we’ll work with:
- yarrow
- plantain
- willow
- lavender
You’ll learn how these plants have been used traditionally by herbalists for centuries, alongside current evidence-informed understandings of their properties and applications.
Throughout the session, we’ll forage the plants together, learn how to use them fresh in the field, and prepare them into simple herbal first aid preparations to take home.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with:
🌿 your own herbal first aid kit
🌿 hands-on experience identifying and preparing medicinal plants
🌿 monographs and preparation notes for each herb
🌿 practical knowledge of when and how to use each preparation
This is not a clinical herbalism training, nor a wilderness survival course. It’s a playful, practical, and grounded introduction to building confidence with herbal first aid through direct relationship with plants.
No prior experience is needed — just curiosity and clothes you don’t mind getting a little muddy.
Tea, snacks, and all materials included.
Growing access together 🌿
Nature School for Grownups is built on the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to connect with nature. That's why 5% of every Summer Masterclass ticket is contributed to the Community Nature Fund, helping support free community gatherings and subsidised places on future Nature School programmes.
