St Thomas Church and Community Project, B26 2SA
Description
This event is for you if you have an idea or a challenge you are facing about setting up, running or growing your small community or voluntary group in Birmingham.
This event is taking place at St Thomas Church and Community Project on Wednesday 23 October from 1.30pm to 3pm.
During this event we will:
- Work through a question, idea or challenge relating to your group
- Come up with some simple next steps to take
- Meet other people who are making things happen in your area of Birmingham.
Typical questions people have asked before were around:
- Structures (choosing a structure - what sort of group to set up)
- Governance (recruiting trustees, good practice in running a group or charity)
- Fundraising (finding funders, tips on writing applications, costing bids)
- Promotion (reaching more people, including volunteers).
How to register:
- Click on the 'reserve your space' button to register - we'll ask you a few simple questions about your community group/project/idea so we know how best to support you on the day.
- If closer to the time you cannot attend please email us at info@birminghamcommunitymatters.org.uk to let us know. This will allow us to allocate your place to someone else.
This event is for small voluntary and community groups, and is not geared towards CICs or other social enterprises.
Here’s why - and where you can get the right support
Thank you for helping us to manage our limited resources
Thanks to our funder, the National Lottery Community Fund, and volunteers, this event is free for you to attend. If you sign up and later find you can’t make it, that’s no problem - please let us know, though, so we can allocate your space to someone else. Thank you for helping us to help as many people as we can. We look forward to seeing you!
