Join us on 10 December 2025, 1:00–2:00 pm GMT (online) for a presentation and Q&A session featuring the authors of Contemporary Issues in Transphobic Hate and Prejudice: Transforming the Narrative, edited by Ben Colliver, Jane Healy, Katie McBride, and Gina Gwenffrewi.

This important volume brings together international research and perspectives on prejudice, bias and hate targeted at transgender communities, examining how transphobia manifests across space, policy, discourse, and lived experience.

About the editors/contributors

  • Ben Colliver is Associate Professor of Criminology at Birmingham City University, UK.

  • Jane Healy is a Visiting Fellow in Criminology at Bournemouth University.

  • Katie McBride is a criminologist and Associate Head of School at the University of Plymouth.

  • Gina Gwenffrewi is a tutor in English Literature and Queer/Transgender Studies at the University of Edinburgh.

In this session, the authors will present key themes from the book, respond to questions curated by the host, and engage with questions from the audience.
