Description
On National Medal of Honor Day, join the Buffalo Naval Park for a virtual lunchtime talk about Dr. Mary Walker. Born in Oswego, NY in 1832, Walker overcame many social and political obstacles to become a surgeon during the Civil War, and is the only woman to receive the Medal of Honor. Dr. Theresa Kaminski will talk about her book, "Dr. Mary Walker's Civil War: One Woman's Journey to the Medal of Honor and the Fight for Women's Rights."

Participants will receive an email with a link to join the videoconference via Zoom. Click the link to join the meeting. You may be prompted to download Zoom, which will take just a few moments to complete.
You will need a computer with a decent internet connection and speakers, ideally equipped with a webcam and a microphone. You will be able to test your audio and video settings ahead of time if you would like.
