Facial Reconstruction Workshop

Following a huge amount of interest, Bugs, Bones & Botany CIC is excited to announce another adult Facial Reconstruction Workshop evening.

This session will take place in the cosy, creative surroundings of Space Lab, a pottery studio tucked away off Lynch Lane in Weymouth.

These relaxed, hands-on workshops explore how faces can be reconstructed from skeletal remains using a combination of anatomy, osteology, forensic science, archaeology and artistic interpretation.

Perfect for anyone interested in:

  • anatomy and bones
  • archaeology and history
  • forensic science
  • museums and conservation
  • art and sculpture
  • true crime and investigations
  • or simply learning something fascinating and different

No previous experience is needed, just curiosity and an open mind.

During the evening we’ll explore, through a short presentation and guided discussion:

  • how skulls help shape a face
  • tissue depth and facial structure
  • the history and science behind reconstruction
  • how experts rebuild faces from skeletal remains
  • fascinating real-world examples and case studies

Expect a relaxed atmosphere, small group sizes, plenty of tea and coffee, biscuits and lots of opportunity for questions and conversation throughout the evening.
