🧟 Monsters, Myths & Facial Reconstruction 💀

Adults Facial Reconstruction Workshop: Halloween Edition 🎃

This Halloween, facial reconstruction takes a darker turn...

Join Bugs, Bones & Botany for a special adults-only evening exploring the fascinating science of facial reconstruction alongside the myths, folklore and strange beliefs that have surrounded monsters, death and the unknown throughout history.

Why did people believe giants and cyclopes once roamed the earth? Could unfamiliar bones have inspired legendary creatures? What can unusual burials reveal about ancient fears of the dead? And where does science end and imagination begin?

Throughout the evening we'll journey through osteology, archaeology, anatomy and folklore, uncovering how real human remains, misunderstood anatomy, archaeological discoveries and criminal investigations have helped shape some of history's most enduring monsters and legends.

Then it's your turn.

Using genuine forensic facial reconstruction techniques, you'll work step by step to rebuild a face from a skull model, learning how bone tells the story of the person who once lived beneath it.
