Join Bugs, Bones & Botany for a special adults-only evening exploring the science of facial reconstruction alongside the myths, folklore and strange beliefs that have grown around monsters and the dead throughout history.

Why did people believe giants and cyclopes once walked the earth? Could unfamiliar bones have helped create legendary creatures? What can unusual burials tell us about the way people feared the dead? And where does science end and imagination begin?

We'll delve into osteology, archaeology, anatomy and folklore, looking at how real remains, misunderstood anatomy and unusual discoveries may have helped shape some of our most enduring monsters and legends.

You'll then get hands-on with your own skull model, using forensic facial reconstruction techniques to gradually put a face back onto the bones.

Expect skulls, strange burials, curious creatures, old beliefs, modern murders and plenty of wonderfully macabre science. 🦴🔬🎃

No previous experience is needed. Everything will be explained as we go, and you'll have your own reconstruction to work on throughout the evening.
