TK partial suspension
With Anna Noctuelle and Burgundy Rose

Over the course of this workshop, you will revise your knowledge of the TK and learn how to apply and secure uplines to start to play with gravity.

This class will be co-taught by Anna Noctuelle and Burgundy Rose, and will look at both the bottom and rigger perspective.

We will explore key details on tension, placement, safety and sustainability with this iconic tie. You will experience how the TK loads with an upline, and play with different shapes to enhance the sensation, aesthetics and emotional journey of a scene.

We will cover:

  • Suspension lines and lock-offs
  • Setting the height of your point
  • TK revision
  • Attaching uplines to the TK
  • Loading the TK in different positions for play
  • Fluid body handling

Date: Sunday 17th May

Time: 12.30pm – 5pm

Venue: Momentum Pole & Aerial Studio, Unit 54b Morelands Trading Estate, Gloucester GL1 5RZ

Getting there: The venue is on an industrial estate with plenty of free parking on the weekend. From Gloucester train station it is a 17 minute bus or 25 minute walk.

Accessibility: The studio is on the first floor which is accessible by a flight of stairs and unfortunately no lift available. There is a gender-neutral toilet in the studio, with further toilets in the shared hallway. There is a small sofa area and kitchenette with access to water and hot drinks. If you have any other queries, please email burgundyroserope@gmail.com who will answer your questions.

Prerequisites: Riggers must already know how to tie a TK (any variation) as we will only be revising key details, not teaching the pattern from zero. Both partners should be familiar with nerve pathways and how to spot early signs of nerve compression.

Bring: At least 4 hanks of rope and safety shears. 8m lengths of jute or hemp preferable. No cotton or nylon rope. A sling and a ring or carabiner for your upline.

Refunds: If you can no longer come to the class after booking, you can cancel your ticket and receive a full refund up to 14 days prior to the event. You must email burgundyroserope@gmail.com by the 3rd May. Any cancellations after this date will not be refunded.

About the teachers

Anna Noctuelle is a Shibari practitioner, educator and performer with 20 years of experience, Tantra facilitator, initiated Yogi and Reiki practitioner with a Shamanic side who performs and teaches workshops and private classes as well as coaches individuals and couples in London and internationally. She has a holistic perspective in her teaching style and brings interdisciplinary approaches to the subject that come from her background as a dancer, linguist and academic. She is committed to creating safe, inclusive learning environments where curiosity, courage, and playfulness thrive.

Burgundy Rose is a rope switch, facilitator and artist interested in using the body as a tool for expression. She started learning Shibari in 2016 at Anatomie Studio in London, and has learnt from an extensive range of international educators and collaborators. She is currently most inspired by blending the intensity and aesthetics of ‘traditional’ Japanese Shibari with a more movement-based and deconstructed ‘contemporary’ style. Her shibari teaching and creative performances has taken her across London, Manchester, Bristol, Berlin, Prague, Athens, Rotterdam and Portland (USA).
