Join us for a celebration of local community heritage action featuring showcases, workshops, fieldtrips, networking and a community feast. This one day event (with optional Friday and Sunday sessions) will include training workshops for community groups where they can ask questions and share solutions on locally led heritage conservation projects while having the opportunity to network with others. With contributions from the Burrenbeo Conservation volunteers and Heritage Keepers programme participants, groups will be encouraged to showcase their projects while considering wider questions around climate change, biodiversity loss, community fragmentation and more. The event will also include the launch of the Clare Stories of Change exhibition where Clare based changemakers will share their climate actions.
Friday evening and all day Saturday participants will have the opportunity to join William from Wild Strands to prepare the food for the communal feast through these food workshops. Preparing this communal feast together will provide participants with the opportunity to connect or maybe reconnect with local plant-based food and develop a skill set on how to integrate a future food and often forgotten Irish heritage food, seaweed, back into our diets to create enjoyable, nutritious and healthy meals.
For anyone still in the area on Sunday, the morning will see the continuation of the Stories of Change Exhibition - a collection of stories and photos of people in Clare doing good things, in their community for Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share. The exhibition will be open to the public 10:00-14:00. Pop in and say hello or register for a free ticket to join us for a gentle morning of yoga, coffee, cake and chats.
