Fylde Coast Responsible Business Network Event
RBN Network event to open the Baton of Hope tour at Village Hotel
We’re extremely proud of Sam Southern and the team at Empowerment who have successfully bid to launch the Baton of Hope tour this September in Blackpool.
The Baton of Hope is the UK’s largest suicide prevention initiative, created to spark a national conversation about mental health and suicide. It was founded in 2022 by Mike McCarthy and Steve Phillip, both of whom lost their sons to suicide. Their mission is to reduce stigma, raise awareness, and promote hope and support for those struggling.
The Baton will leave Village Hotel at 8.30am as it sets off for its leg around the Fylde Coast, stopping at multiple destinations and hubs. But we’d like to invite members of the Fylde Coast Responsible Business Network to our breakfast meeting ahead of this to be a part of this movement. Arrival from 7am, with a 7.30am start.
This follows the success of last year’s inspiring event, where Sam shared her lived experience and sparked meaningful conversations across our network.
We want to bring together businesses from across the Fylde Coast to learn more about suicide awareness, meet services that provide support to the workforce and network with like-minded businesses.
Please note: We are aware that some schools will not yet have re-opened after the summer break, so please do feel free to bring your children along to this event and then head on over with the Baton at its next stop at Blackpool Zoo and visit the Family wellbeing hub. Please indicate when booking if you require any tickets for children so we can accommodate them.
