BSC Career Speaker Series - Back to Campus: RODE Architects on Career, Culture, and Sustainability

Join the Career Speaker Series hosted by the Business Sustainability Collaborative! The series is designed for students interested in gaining insights into sustainability careers. This is a special event for NC State Energy week hosted in collaboration with the NC State College of Design featuring the co-founders of RODE Architects.

Kevin Deabler, Principal and Co-Founder, RODE Architects
A proud Co-Founder and Principal at RODE, Kevin has a broad design background through years of experience practicing in North Carolina and Boston. His mentors were entrepreneurs who transformed their community with vision and determination. Kevin studied environmental design and architecture at North Carolina State University and earned an MBA from Northeastern University. Kevin applies strategic insight for project teams tackling complex urban sites, cultural and non-profit planning, housing, and unique rural landscapes. He is always motivated to find innovative solutions for RODE clients and to inspire the creative drive within the team. Kevin and his family live in Dorchester, MA and he loves spending time volunteering, skiing, exploring Maine, painting, and printmaking.

Eric Robinson, Principal and Co-Founder, RODE Architects
Eric Robinson is a LEED-accredited professional who brings an integrated, design-oriented approach to every opportunity. Since graduating from NC State and The University of Virginia Eric has worked on a wide range of projects and locations throughout the country. Many have been recognized for their design excellence, from a summer camp for underprivileged kids from Los Angeles in Wyoming to Massachusetts’ largest supportive housing (formerly homeless) and low and moderate income residential building. Eric's ability to deliver design excellences speaks to his intuitive and natural abilities to assess every design opportunity to its full potential. Eric strongly believes all projects shall be good civic ambassadors and a contributing member to its environment. He believes the success of every project shall be measured on its process and outcome, ultimately the goal should be to be embraced by all of its stakeholders. To achieve this, he believes in a rigorous process that starts with a clear communication strategy and fundamentally strong design concepts. Articulating and being transparent with the goals of a project while actively managing feedback ensures a collective sense of ownership in the ultimate success of a project.
