Only a few weeks to go! The City Meat Lecture 2026, sponsored by ABP, is taking place on Thursday 22 October 2026, from 6.00pm –9.00pm

We are looking forward to welcoming our panellists: Tara McCarthy, Global Vice President of ESG, Alltech, Ireland and Nicolas Pampliega, European Strategic Sourcing Director at FMG Global.

Tara McCarthy, Global Vice President of ESG, Alltech, Ireland

Tara McCarthy is the global vice president of ESG at Alltech, where she supports the company's purpose of Working Together for a Planet of Plenty™. Previously, she served as the chief executive officer of Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board, and as the chief executive officer of Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), Ireland’s seafood development agency. In 2019, she co-founded Agdif, an organization that champions diversity in the Irish food industry.

McCarthy holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a master’s degree in business studies from University College Dublin's Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. She is also an affiliate of IMD Business School in Switzerland.

Nicolas Pampliega, European Strategic Sourcing Director at FMG Global, where he leads the European sourcing strategy for McDonald’s beef supply chain, with responsibility for procurement across the EU and UK. He is a senior procurement and commercial leader with more than 25 years of international experience across the meat, food and agribusiness sectors, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge of the supply chain.

Originally from Argentina and now based in Ireland, Nicolas has held senior commercial and leadership positions across Europe and South America. His career includes roles with Kepak, Rosderra Irish Meats, El Tejar, the Pérez Companc Group and Louis Dreyfus. He has extensive experience in strategic sourcing, international trading, supplier management, margin optimisation, risk management and the development of high-performing commercial teams.

Nicolas holds an MBA from Universidad del CEMA and a degree in Agribusiness. He combines deep knowledge of global protein and agricultural markets with a practical, results-focused leadership style and a strong track record of creating sustainable commercial value.
