United Way Greater Toronto, Peel Community Benefits Network, and Buy Social Canada warmly invite you to the second PCBN Inclusive Workforce Forum on Thursday, June 25th, 2026, from 10am – 3pm.

Research
United Way Greater Toronto has provided funding to Buy Social Canada to lead a research project focused on understanding and strengthening the inclusive workforce development ecosystem in Peel and the demand for inclusive employment through social procurement and community benefits.

Event Overview
At the forum we will share the proposed recommendations to advance inclusive workforce development in Peel, which are based on the preliminary demand- and supply-side research findings along with insights from the first Inclusive Workforce Forum in October 2025. Together we will validate or refine the recommendations and map them to the Peel ecosystem through interactive discussions and activities.

Your participation will directly inform this important work.

Forum Agenda:

  • Welcome
  • Presentation on Peel Inclusive Workforce Recommendations
  • Breakout Activity and Group Discussion 1: Validating and reflecting on the recommendations
  • Breakout Activity and Group Discussion 2: Ideating opportunities
  • Wrap-up & Closing

Please note that a light breakfast buffet and lunch will be provided.

Date/Time: Thursday, June 25, 2026 | 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Location: Sheridan College - Davis Campus | 7899 McLaughlin Rd, Brampton, ON, L6Y 5H9

This forum is the second of two forums that will allow sector partners to inform and validate research findings throughout the project.

We hope you can join us in this collaborative effort to build a more inclusive and opportunity-rich Peel region. If you have any questions, please contact Jenna Stevenato at jenna@buysocialcanada.com.

About the Peel Community Benefits Network (PCBN):

PCBN was created through the Peel Poverty Reduction Strategy Committee and was co-founded in 2019 by the Region of Peel and United Way Greater Toronto. Its mandate is to:

  1. Ensure residents benefit from the economic opportunities of major infrastructure projects, such as the Hurontario Light Rail Transit (HuLRT)
  2. Engage multisector stakeholders to co-develop inclusive Community Benefits frameworks

The PCBN Working Group—currently chaired by United Way Greater Toronto—includes government, business, non-profits, labour unions, and community partners.

Why This Matters
In 2024, UWGT and PCBN identified a need for a multisector-informed understanding of Peel’s employment system to support more inclusive workforce opportunities. This research and your insights will help inform future PCBN focus areas, and guide funders and governments in resourcing impactful solutions.
