It's time for... ACTION!  Join us at The Medium to discuss statewide efforts to move Arkansas filmmaking forward. Arkansas Cinema Society's Director of Advocacy, Brandon Goldsmith, and filmmaker and producer, Zak Heald, will share advocacy strategies and recent efforts at the state government level. Meet other film professionals and enthusiasts and join in the conversation.

ZAK HEALD  is an accomplished entrepreneur and filmmaker based in Northwest Arkansas. He is the owner of Intercut Productions, a full-service video agency he founded in 2012 during his junior year of high school. Under his leadership, Intercut Productions has collaborated with major brands such as Walmart, Tyson Foods, Mattel, and Forbes, delivering compelling video content that drives results.
In addition to Intercut Productions, Heald co-founded Farm Studios in Hiwasse, Arkansas, in 2019 with Jason Netter. This state-of-the-art film and media production facility features a 10,000-square-foot soundstage, the largest of its kind in Arkansas, aiming to attract film and television productions to the region.
Heald also co-produced “NWA Alive,” a regional lifestyle and tourism television show highlighting the people, places, and events that make Northwest Arkansas a great place to live, work, and play. The show aired online and on ABC affiliate KHBS/KHOG, averaging 200,000 viewers per week during its run.

BRANDON GOLDSMITH - ACS Director of Advocacy  Dr. Brandon Chase Goldsmith began his professional career in 1995 as the chief computer animator for Williams Tool Company in Fort Smith and started his first movie production company in 1998. He went on to get his BA in playwriting and acting with a MA and PhD in communication. Brandon taught video production and editing at the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith. He wrote and produced The Western District play, book, and feature length documentary, which led him to start the River Valley Film Society, the Fort Smith International Film, and the MidAmerica Film Market.
