Description: In this interactive session, participants will work through the following: ​

  • A heat scenario​
  • Creating a CoolKit to take home ​

Audience: Members of local community organizations who connect with groups such as seniors, youth, and people with chronic illness. Participants will explore:

  • What would you do in a heat scenario? ​
  • Who would you connect with, and how? ​
  • What strengths exist in communities, and what might be overlooked? ​

Why this matters: As climate impacts become more frequent and unevenly felt, all Calgarians have a role to play in supporting community resilience. This session offers a practical tools for reflection and adaptation that Calgarians and use in their communities. ​

Intended Outcomes:

  • Understand practical ways to address heat impacts ​
  • Strengthen their awareness of local community networks and assets ​
