The Manor House Library Teens Creative Writing Club is back for 2026/2027! This free group is for writers aged 14-18 and is open to any experience level. Join us from 5-7pm in the Baring Room at Manor House Library on the first Thursday of each month for free creative writing workshops.
What can you expect?
A quick warm-up
Reading a few examples (distributed on the night)
A casual conversation about form, technique, emotion, and other aspects of writing (we want to hear your opinions!)
Time to write in the company of others
Snacks & tea
Opportunities for workshopping & peer feedback throughout the year
Last year, our writers had the opportunity to include work in a published pamphlet and perform at a showcase event, and we hope to do the same this year! Whether you're a seasoned writer or you've never written outside of school, all are welcome.
This is not a revision group or homework club! We're here to write creatively, outside the bounds of a school curriculum. We read great examples of (mostly) contemporary writing in many different genres, styles, and forms. There is no homework or advance reading. All materials are provided, and the group is completely free. We welcome writing in all forms and genres.
