This screening is an official event of the 40th Anniversary of the founding of the City of West Hollywood. The life story of transgender / AIDS activist Connie Norman is intertwined with the city in the late 80’s and early 90s, as West Hollywood repeatedly appears in the film in the key role of 'home territory’ and stage for the LGBTQ community to express itself in the public realm, in both angry protest and joyous celebration.
A very special Q and A panel following the screening will include Connie Norma’s activist colleagues gathered together live on stage for the first time since the film’s premiere during the pandemic in 2021. On stage will be Torie Osborn, Robin Podolsky ,Peter Cashman and others to be confirmed, as well as the films' director, Dante Alencastre. The panel will be moderated by transgender activist/artist Jazzmun Nichcala Crayton. With special performance by the Trans Chorus of LA.
