Aligning California Workforce Systems with Registered Apprenticeship Programs Training

The cohort series encompasses technical assistance and training designed to equip Workforce Development Boards, staff and partners with knowledge, tools, and strategies necessary to align with and integrate Registered Apprenticeship (RA). Participants will walk away with the knowledge and tools to utilize RA as a workforce solution and incorporate into WIOA and overall board planning. The in-person cohort series will take place at 5 different locations throughout California, and the duration for each training session will be one and half day long. The training will be delivered by Safal Partners and the Division of Apprenticeship Standards.

The targeted audience would be workforce board staff and members, one-stop partners and staff, community-based organizations, education providers, service providers, employers, vocational rehabilitation service providers, apprenticeship related staff and anyone else whom may be interested in better understanding registered apprenticeship programs.

Through this training series, participants will develop skills and expertise in key components of workforce/RA alignment:

1) Creating RA Aligned Infrastructure and Policies
2) Embedding RA Subject Matter Experts
3) Equipping Business Service Representatives with RA Knowledge
4) Serving as RA Conveners
5) Understanding RA Sponsorship
