A BETTER WAY TO REDUCE RECIDIVISM THAN JOBS! HELP PEOPLE IN REENTRY START AND SUCCEED IN CAREER PATHWAYS!

Entry level jobs may help reduce recidivism, but with their low wages, lack of upward mobility options, poor management, high risk of layoff and lack of status they are often not a strong enough magnet to keep some people in reentry employed and out of the legal system. Career pathways by comparison, are much more effective in helping people get out of poverty and see their earnings increase. Pathways lead people into good jobs they really like and can be proud of and as a result, pathways will help people keep the bars behind them. But it takes special program features and counseling strategies to help people in reentry start and succeed in career pathways. Your jobs approach does not work for pathways. This workshop for management and staff will give you all the tools you need to make success in career pathways and a life in front of the bars a reality for people in reentry!
A few of the points covered in this idea packed workshop include:
-- Learn how to help people in reentry appreciate the benefits of careers to increase their motivation to pursue a pathway!
-- Get innovative tools and resources that work with people in reentry to help them discover their hidden assets to careers and find the right career for them!
-- Many people will need an entry level job before getting into a pathway. Learn how to focus entry level job strategies so they connect to the career and you will get better retention and a ramp into the pathway!
-- Get powerful ideas for helping people overcome their barriers to starting and staying on the career pathway! Getting on the pathway is half the challenge, staying in it may be an even greater challenge for some people and you can be the glue that makes pathway retention happen!
