textures of rock, tango, soaring film score, and 20th-century avant-garde
Experience a high-flying journey across the American continents with a program covering the work of innovative contemporary composers. Marjan Mozetich's JUNO-nominated composition "Angels in Flight" headlines the program with buoyant melodies from across our northern border, while Camarada Artist-in-Residence Andrés Martín takes us south to Argentina with his "Tango a Todo Madre." Providing a brilliant edge to the evening is a double bass solo piece by Georgia-born Xavier Foley and a trip into the avant-garde with Israeli-born but American-based composer Gilad Cohen, who also joins Camarada live for an exclusive pre-concert interview, all held in UC San Diego's brand new Park & Market performance space.
