Improving balance care with on-ear wearable technology                                                                  with Iwan Roberts Cambridge Neuroworks Frontier Fellow and co-Founder of Pinnacle Neuroscience

Iwan Roberts, Cambridge Neuroworks Frontier Fellow and co-founder of Pinnacle Neuroscience, will share his experience  developing an on-ear wearable device for balance assessment and rehabilitation. The device tracks head, body and eye movements to help assess balance more precisely.

The talk will explore the journey from an early research prototype to a clinically focused device, including testing against optical motion tracking in more than 70 participants. It will also reflect on the challenges of moving medical devices from research into patient care, and lessons learned through Cambridge NeuroWorks.

There will also be a live demonstration how to do the Epley manoeuvre, which is used to treat a common cause of dizziness called benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).
