Fused Glass workshop with Susan McKay

These sessions are open to Disabled people and/or people with long term physical or mental health conditions

Join us for a fused glass workshop run by Dumfries-based glass artist Susan McKay. Across two 2-hour sessions you will learn easy techniques that can be used to create decorations, window hangings, tiles and jewellery. These workshops will have a festive theme, with opportunity to make decorations or small gifts.

Fused glass making is easy to learn and a fun way to explore colour, pattern and glass in light. No prior experience necessary.

All basic materials are provided free of charge. Please note, if you choose to use more expensive glass or specialist materials, there may be a small additional charge. This can be discussed directly with Susan on the day of the workshop.

Meet: Cample Line, Cample Mill, Cample, Dumfriesshire DG3 5HD
Dates: Monday 13 & Monday 20 November (you will need to attend both dates)
Time: 1-3pm each day
Cost: Free (8 places available)

Expect: During the sessions you will learn basic glass cutting techniques and how to put them together to create decorations and window hangings. Care must be taken when cutting glass and Susan will provide advice on how to do so safely.

Refreshments: We will have refreshments at Cample Line. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements when you book.

Recommended for ages 16 yrs+ but please be in touch with us if you have younger children so we can advise about length and terrain. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Access:

• We have level access at our entrance and through our ground floor space (where the workshop will be held)
• We have an external, uncovered lift for access to our first floor space (upstairs gallery)
• Our toilet facilities are not wheelchair accessible – please be in touch if you require further information about this before you visit us
