Downtown Automotive Heritage Walking Tour

Oshawa has been home to the McLaughlin Carriage Company, McLaughlin Motor Car Company, and General Motors of Canada, but today only a few remnants of the city’s former industrial past remain in the downtown core. Our expert guide will explore the streetscape and bring to life the people and places that made Oshawa “Canada’s Motor City.”

The Downtown Oshawa Automotive Heritage Walking Tour meets in the museum's parking lot. The 90 minute walking tour then traces the sites where carriages and cars were manufactured in downtown Oshawa, including popular brands like McLaughlin-Buick, Oldsmobile and Chevrolet. 

Due to COVID-19 restrictions all tickets must be pre-purchased through the museum’s website. Please note that under Stage 1 and Stage 2 of Ontario's reopening plan the museum building and washrooms are not open to visitors.
