I bob pwrpas – ‘supergroup’ o fand twmpath yw TwmpDaith!

Mae'r band yn cynnwys naw o gerddorion a dawnswyr ifanc o dros Gymru. Daethpwyd a hwy ynghyd drwy “Prosiect WYTH” - prosiect a ariennir gan Gyngor Celfyddydau Cymru i hyrwyddo dawnsio traddodiadol Cymreig.

Daw TwmpDaith 2024 a set newydd sbon o gerddorion a dawnswyr o bob cwr o Gymru at ei gilydd. Yr un mor dalentog â'u traed ag y maent gyda'u hofferynnau a'u lleisiau. Heb os, bydd eu brwdfrydedd ifanc, egni diderfyn a'u halawon Cymreig bywiog yn ysbrydoli pawb i ddawnsio mewn dim o dro.

Mae TwmpDaith yn cydweithio gyda nifer o Fentrau Iaith yn lleol i ddod a noson o ddathlu ein traddodiadau gwerin i’ch ardal chi. Mae’r nosweithiau yr un mor boblogaidd gyda Chymry Cymraeg ag y mae nhw gyda siaradwyr newydd sy’n dysgu’r iaith a’r di-Gymraeg sydd eisiau dysgu mwy am ein cerddoriaeth a dawnsfeydd cynhenid. Does dim angen unrhyw brofiad blaenorol o ddawnsio i ddod i fwynhau'r noson.

TwmpDaith is a Welsh ceilidh supergroup.

The band consists of nine young musicians and dancers from all over Wales, brought together through Welsh Arts Council funded project – “Prosiect WYTH”, to promote traditional Welsh dancing. The TwmpDaith name comes from the Welsh words “Twmpath” = Welsh Ceilidh + “Taith” = Journey.

TwmpDaith 2024 sees a brand-new set of musicians and dancers from across Wales. All as talented with their feet as they are with their instruments and voices. Their youthful enthusiasm, boundless energy and lively Welsh tunes will without a doubt have everyone up and dancing in no time.

TwmpDaith is working with a number of Mentrau Iaith across Wales to bring evenings of entertainment where we get to celebrate our folk traditions in your local area. These evenings have proved as popular with Welsh speakers, those new to learning the language, and non-Welsh speakers who wish to learn more about our native music and dances. No previous experience of dancing is required to attend and enjoy these events.
