Cantata Dramatica in partnership with Luminatus Vocal Ensemble presents an inspiring two part programme, combining great Rennaissance music by William Byrd, Thomas Tallis and Claudin de Sermisy with the première (outside London) of a new one-woman opera Eight Days, commissioned by Cantata Dramatica from Louis Mander in 2026. The opera is a moving and emotional account of the last days of Mary Queen of Scots, based on her letters and other contemporary historical sources, with libretto created by soprano Louisa Petaï who also sings the role of Mary.
