CAPA and Grumpy Seal Productions present the first CAPA’s Film Challenge!
$20 per team!
Please note the following:
Guidelines and rules for the film challenge will be disclosed at the kickoff meeting on Thursday, May 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Denny’s (16970 W. Yuma Rd. Goodyear).
Each team will have 72 hours to write, shoot, edit, and submit their film.
The top 10 films will be showcased at Harkins Estrella Falls on June 10, 2024, followed by an awards ceremony.
Kindly ensure that all films are suitable for a family audience.
Open to all ages!
Registration is non-refundable.
Films that do not adhere to our family-friendly guidelines upon submission will be disqualified. Please note that no refunds will be issued for disqualified films.

- Register your team by May 21
- Attend the kickoff on May 23 either in person or Zoom
- Specific guideline (line of dialogue, prop, and theme) will be provided during the kickoff or through email at 7:00 pm (AZ time)
- Your team has 72 hours to write, film, and edit a 5 minute short film
- Submit it by 7:00 pm (AZ time) on Sunday, May 26
- Films will be viewed and rated by our panel of judges
- The top 10 films will be screened at Harkins Estrella Falls with an award ceremony on June 10, 2024
