June 2025 Learn To Row

***For session cancellations due to weather, your reservation will move to the rain date. Weather cancellation make-up dates are September 13 and 14, 2025***

The Learn to Row session will introduce you to the proper technique of sweep rowing (one oar per person). Class is limited to 8 students. Cost for the Learn To Row program is $335.*

The session schedule will be as follows (Students are expected to attend all sessions):
Saturday, June 7, 7:00 AM - 11:30 AM: 
    Land and On-the-water session - warm-up followed by on-the-water training
Sunday June 8, 7:00 AM - 11:30 AM:  
    On-the-water training

*The session fee also includes one month of coached practices with other novice rowers after graduation.

The class itself is not designed to be physically strenuous, however you must have a reasonable level of fitness to participate.
Students must be able to: 

• lift 35 - 40 pounds overhead (to help carry the boat)
• perform a full squat in order to get into, get out of, and lift the boat
• swim or tread water for 20 minutes

Rowing is a team sport. Signing up to participate requires your full commitment to show up on time and participate.

 There will be NO REFUNDS for cancellations made 14 days or less prior to the start of the session. If you register and are then unable to attend for any reason, please contact us at membership@CapeFearRiverRowingClub.org so that we may find a substitute for your seat.
