Saturday Sweep Class

Join us for a short Saturday rowing course!

This is a great way to experience what rowing on the water is like. We will start off on the rowing machine to learn the basic stroke mechanics and then spend some time in an 8-rower boat rowing on the water. From start to finish the course takes about 90 minutes. Click the Register button to sign up. Cost is $60 per seat.  Students who wish to continue with rowing must take our more intensive Learn To Row course.

Rowing experience is not required. The class itself is not designed to be physically strenuous, however you must have a reasonable level of fitness to participate. Students MUST be able to:

• swim or tread water for 20 minutes.
• lift 35 - 40 pounds overhead (to help carry the boat from the boathouse to the water and back).
• perform a full squat (to the ground) to get into and out of the boat and place the boat in and take it out of the water.

REFUNDS will be issued for cancellations 14 days in advance. If you register and are then unable to attend for any reason, please contact us at membership@capefearriverrowingclub.org. If the row is cancelled due to weather you can reschedule for a different Saturday or request a refund.
