Curiosity Day Alan Robinson - Ghyll Bank, Raisbeck, Penrith CA10 3SG

Join us back with Carbon Calling started - in Cumbria, for our Be The Change Curiosity day with Alan Robinson, on the 24th of June. He is one of three project farms on this year’s Carbon Calling coaching programme.

During the day we’ll be exploring Systems Change - what we need to actively redesign for positive farm growth. So far in the Be The Change project with Alan we’ve been focusing on healthy soils and grazing planning, supported by mentoring and coaching.

The event will bring together the practical insights gathered so far during the Be The Change project, expert guidance and on-the-ground learning.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

More detail: The day will open at Orton Village Hall, with tea & coffees and an intro to Alan’s farming set up with the Blue family and their vision for the land.

In the morning we’ll be indoors, looking at sustainable land management and improving soil health.

We'll then break for a working lunch, featuring soil test results, meadow restoration and biodiversity mapping.

The afternoon will move outdoors for a farm tour to get up close to Alan’s cattle and dig deeper into the soil.

We’ll close the day by reflecting on key takeaways and identifying practical next steps.

This will be a valuable opportunity to connect strategy with practice, exchange ideas, and build confidence in planning for the future of your land and enterprise.

Location: Meet at Orton Village Hall, Market place, Orton, Penrith CA10 3RU for the morning, and then farm walk at Ghyll Bank, Raisbeck CA10 3SG

10.30am - 4pm

Tickets Cost £20 per person (to cover lunch)

Thank you to the Blue family and Esmee Fairbairn Foundation
