Play with a Play!
Join us to enjoy some nearly ready theatre (a brand new rom-com play bounced into action with an unexpected pregnancy) while your baby can relax and play in the space.
We are currently developing a new play RIPE by writer Leanne Davis (Misadventure, Heydays Productions/BBC Writersroom 2020) and we'd love to share a work-in-progress show for you as new parents and parents-to-be! We'd love to hear your responses and have a good chat about your experiences as a new parent/pregnancy/parent to be.
The play is definitely made for adults - it has a lot of swearing in it and references to adult themes like sex so please only bring young babies who are not learning to speak yet!
There will some beanbags and blankets as well as baby-friendly toys and instruments to help keep your baby occupied while you enjoy watching and chatting. Please do bring anything you might need e.g. some toys, books, milk, changing mat etc. Everything you need to do to care for your baby is absolutely okay to do in the room, there's no need to miss a thing!
We will also be creating a series of comedy/comic-book illustrations based on our conversations and themes from the play with local Illustrator Angela Mayers, who will be with us getting stuck in, chatting and hearing your ideas.
There will be also FREE hot drinks and pastries to enjoy. Please let us know when booking if you have any specific requests!
