GLP-1 Receptor Agonists in Addiction Care: Emerging Evidence & Clinical Practice
Share this event
Join Dr Steven Klein, Addiction Medicine Physician, for a look at the emerging role of GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) in addiction care.
Drawing on emerging research and Caron Treatment Centers’ experience with more than 600 patients receiving these medications in residential treatment, Steven will explore their potential impact on reward, craving and compulsive substance use, as well as the current limitations of the evidence.
The session will also cover practical clinical considerations, including patient selection, dosing, side effects, co-prescribing and off-label use, alongside how GLP-1RAs can be integrated into a whole-person, multidisciplinary approach to addiction treatment.
A useful opportunity to explore an emerging area of addiction medicine and hear how Caron is incorporating these treatments into comprehensive clinical care.
