Career Discernment: What Should I Do Next?

Career Discernment: What Should I Do Next?

This session is part of Stronger Minds at Work, a weekly online learning series that helps professionals navigate work and career change, strengthen their effectiveness, and build the confidence and resilience to manage what comes next.

Are you struggling to determine which career direction to pursue?

Do you have so many possible options that choosing one feels difficult?

Are you applying for very different kinds of positions because you are afraid that narrowing your search will mean missing opportunities?

Are you letting the jobs that happen to appear online determine what you apply for rather than deciding what you actually want to target?

Are you feeling overwhelmed trying to find work that fits you, pays enough, and offers the kind of environment you want, all at the same time?

Being able to do many different jobs can feel like an advantage. But in a job search, too many directions can make it harder to position yourself clearly, build the right network, and demonstrate why you are a strong candidate for a particular role.

Join us for a practical lunchtime workshop on how to move from “I could do many things” to a focused career direction you can build your job search around.

You will leave this session understanding:

✅ The steps for determining a clear career direction and choosing the role you want to pursue

✅ How to identify the personal clues that can point you toward the right career direction

✅ Why choosing a focused target is more effective than trying to fit yourself into whatever positions happen to be advertised

✅ Why it is important to test a possible career direction by talking with people who actually do the work

✅ How to separate decisions about the work itself, compensation, workplace environment, and other priorities so you are not trying to solve everything at once

The goal is not to find one perfect answer or limit your possibilities. It is to give you a practical way to identify a promising direction, test it before committing to it, and make the decisions involved in career change one step at a time.

Each session is interactive and strong in content and light in spirit.

A Q&A follows the feature presentation. Ask questions about the session topic or tell us where you are stuck in any aspect of your job search, and we will try to help you find a way forward.

Join us for this interactive and supportive online session.

Registration: $20

If the $20 registration fee does not fit your budget at this time, please email wayne.greenway@careeraviators.com. We will find a way to help you attend the session.
