Carers Leeds Online Employer Forum - Summer 2025

15% of the UK workforce care for a loved one or friend outside of their working hours 

We call them ‘working carers’

Working carers can be any age, and be performing a role at any level of seniority

Working and caring at the same time is tough, both mentally and physically

Unfortunately, 600 people a day are leaving the UK workforce as they struggle with both roles

Lets support and retain our valuable employees

On the 6th August 2025,  employers of people living in Leeds are meeting via Teams to share ideas and best practice round identifying, engaging, supporting and retaining 'working carers' in the workplace.

Attendees mainly have a focus in HR, Equality Diversity and Inclusion, Wellness or Culture.

We also love to host anyone who manages an employee network for working carers. All welcome!

Our format is relaxed round-table style, we encourage lots of conversation, group work and networking.

Our aim is to share updates on topical working carer subjects, and encourage discussion around the wins and challenges of supporting working carers in the workplace
