Carers Learning Session: Writing a Will
This free online session is part of our Carers Learning Sessions, a series of monthly sessions aimed at empowering carers and providing practical advice on issues that may affect their caring role.
Having a will in place is important for everyone, regardless of age or health. A will lets you set out what you would like to happen to your money, property, and possessions when you die. Without one, the law decides who inherits from you and this might not be the person you would have chosen yourself.
This workshop will cover:
- The key things to think about before making a will.
- The different ways to write a will including βfreeβ and low-cost options
- What happens if someone does not have the mental capacity to make their own will
- Important considerations after a will has been written.
This session is suitable for unpaid carers and anyone supporting a family member or friend.
